Your private driver will meet you at Marrakech Airport and take you to your hotel. Marrakech, also known as the ‘Red City,’ was founded in the 11th century and is one of Morocco’s most fascinating destinations. If you arrive early, you can start discovering its colorful streets, lively markets, and charming riads inside the old medina.
Spend a full day exploring Marrakech at your own pace. You can visit the Koutoubia Mosque, one of the oldest in the city, the Bahia Palace, built in the 19th century, and the Saadian Tombs, hidden for centuries before being rediscovered in the early 1900s. Don’t miss Jemaa el-Fna Square, a UNESCO-recognized cultural site filled with local food, music, and daily life. For something quieter, visit the Majorelle Garden, a peaceful garden designed by French artist Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent.
After breakfast, your private driver will take you through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). You will visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s best-preserved earthen villages, once an important stop for caravans from the Sahara. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the ‘Hollywood of Africa’ for its film studios, then drive through the Rose Valley and reach the Dades Valley, famous for its red cliffs and winding roads.
Today, your journey continues toward the Sahara Desert. You will stop at the Todra Gorges, where tall rock walls rise more than 300 meters high. It’s a beautiful place for short walks and photos. Pass through Tinghir and Erfoud, a small town known for fossils and local markets, before arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon. This desert town lies at the edge of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
After breakfast, your private driver will take you north toward Fes. Enjoy scenic views of the Ziz Valley, full of palm trees and ancient kasbahs, before passing through Midelt, a mountain town surrounded by orchards. Continue through Azrou’s Cedar Forest, home to Barbary macaques, and stop briefly in Ifrane, known as the ‘Little Switzerland’ of Morocco. Arrive in Fes by the evening.
Spend the morning exploring Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can visit the Al Quaraouiyine University, Bou Inania Madrasa, and the Royal Palace gates. In the afternoon, your driver will take you to Rabat, the country’s political capital and one of Morocco’s most elegant coastal cities.
After breakfast, explore Rabat briefly before driving south to Casablanca. In Casablanca, you can visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, built partly over the ocean, and then continue your trip back to Marrakech through the highway. Arrive in the evening and enjoy your final night in the city.
At the agreed time, your private driver will take you to Marrakech Airport for your departure. This marks the end of your 8-Day Morocco Private Driver-Only Tour, a journey through Morocco’s mountains, desert, and imperial cities — offering comfort, freedom, and flexibility.

A private driver is responsible for your transportation, comfort, and logistics, getting you safely from one location to another. They can provide general information and recommendations. An official local guide is licensed to accompany you inside monuments and museums, providing detailed historical and cultural context. For a deeper understanding in cities like Fes and Marrakech, we can arrange a local guide for a few hours at an additional cost.
This itinerary is designed with significant flexibility. The driving routes and overnight stops are fixed, but your time in each location is yours to control. You can choose which sites to visit, how long to spend there, and where to eat. Your driver is there to facilitate your plans, not to rush you through a rigid schedule.
When visiting mosques and other religious sites, modest dress is required for both men and women. This typically means covering shoulders, chest, and knees. While the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is more lenient with tourists, it still maintains a dress code. Carrying a scarf is a good idea for women. Your driver can provide specific guidance before each visit.

Our driver, Karim, was the heart of this trip. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and a very safe driver. Having a private car gave us the freedom to stop for photos whenever we wanted and adjust the day slightly. The itinerary is perfectly paced to see the incredible diversity of Morocco. A truly first-class experience!”

This tour packs in so much! One day you’re in the chaotic beauty of Fes, and the next you’re watching the sunset over the Sahara. The drive through the Atlas Mountains is worth the trip alone. We loved the flexibility of having a driver; it felt like a road trip with a knowledgeable friend. The included hotels were charming and authentic. Highly recommend!
As a couple who likes to explore on our own, this was the ideal tour. We had the structure and ease of a driver handling the long distances and logistics, but the freedom to choose what we wanted to see and do in each city. The highlight was definitely the journey from the cedar forests down to the desert. An amazing way to see Morocco without the stress of driving yourself.
