Day one of our 5-day Marrakech desert adventure kicks off with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Marrakech. From there, we set off on a scenic drive, winding our way through the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi Ntichka pass, a stunning 200-kilometer route. We’ll pause at a prime location to visit an argan oil cooperative, where you can learn about the production of this precious oil. We’ll also stop at the pass’s highest point (2260m) for breathtaking panoramic views. Our journey continues past the Kasbah of Telouet to the magnificent Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll stop for lunch and explore this ancient fortified village, a location famed for its role in numerous films and television shows, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Kingdom of Heaven. Finally, we’ll journey to Boumalne Dades, specifically the dramatic Dades Gorges, where we’ll spend the night, ready for the next day’s adventures.

Day two of our 5-day Marrakech desert adventure takes us on an exciting journey towards the Sahara! Our first stop is the magnificent Todra Gorge, a popular spot for climbers. We’ll have time to wander through its impressive 300-meter canyons and soak in the breathtaking scenery. If we’re lucky, we might even catch a glimpse of Berber Nomads bringing their goats to drink from the springs. We may also have the opportunity to visit some local carpet-making workshops. Next, we’ll continue to Tinghir and Tinjedad, where we’ll stop for a delicious lunch. After lunch, we’ll head to Erfoud to explore fascinating fossil workshops, and then, we’ll make our way to the edge of the Sahara. The stunning vistas of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi will truly take your breath away! We’ll then embark on a memorable camel ride across these majestic dunes, pausing to watch the mesmerizing sunset paint the desert sky. As we approach our final destination, we’ll pass through the Berber camp. Finally, we’ll arrive at our camp, where a fantastic Moroccan dinner awaits us. As the night unfolds, we’ll gather around a crackling bonfire and be enchanted by the captivating rhythms of Berber music under the stars.

Day three of our 5-day Marrakech desert tour is dedicated to truly exploring the heart of the Sahara and the people who call it home. Our journey begins with a visit to the Berber Nomads, the original inhabitants of this land. You’ll get a unique glimpse into authentic Moroccan life and witness firsthand how Berber Nomads continue to uphold the country’s rich traditions. It’s a chance to connect with a culture that has thrived in this landscape for generations. As we journey through the desert, we’ll pause at the stunning viewpoint to take in a breathtaking panoramic view and truly appreciate the vastness and beauty of the Sahara’s golden dunes. We’ll then continue to M’Ifiss, where you’ll see the remnants of a former kohl mine, a relic of the French colonial era. Our adventure continues to Khamlia, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the culture of the Gnawa people. These fascinating people, originally from Mali and Gabon, made Morocco their home and settled in various regions, including the one we’re exploring today. Prepare to be captivated by their unique music and mesmerizing dance performances. Finally, as the day winds down, we’ll explore more of the surrounding area, including the enchanting Oases, a vibrant contrast to the arid landscape and a true desert gem.

After enjoying breakfast at our hotel, we’ll continue our 5-day Marrakech desert adventure, taking a scenic route back towards Ouarzazate. Our first stop is Rissani, and the drive there is incredible as we pass through a sea of thousands of palm trees. In Rissani, we’ll have the chance to explore one of the largest and most vibrant traditional souks (markets) in southeastern Morocco – a real feast for the senses! From there, we’ll journey through a series of picturesque Berber villages, each with its unique charm. Around midday, we’ll arrive in Nkob, where we’ll stop for a relaxing lunch. Afterwards, we’ll continue to the stunning Draa Valley, Morocco’s largest valley and home to its longest river. We’ll take some time to explore this beautiful region before continuing to Ouarzazate, where we’ll spend the night.

On the final day of our 5-day Marrakech desert adventure, we’ll spend some time exploring Ouarzazate, often called “Morocco’s Hollywood” – and for good reason! We’ll dedicate a good portion of the day to discovering this fascinating city, with a highlight being the renowned Atlas Studios. Ouarzazate’s stunning landscapes have made it a world-renowned filming location for countless movies and TV shows, and Atlas Studios is a key part of that. You might recognize scenes from popular productions like “Game of Thrones” and “Prison Break,” which were filmed in and around this area. As our time in Ouarzazate comes to an end, we’ll begin our journey back to Marrakech, driving along the scenic “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” a fitting end to our exploration of Morocco’s rich history and landscapes. We’ll conclude our Marrakech tour by dropping you off at your hotel, leaving you with lasting memories of your desert adventure.
