4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech across Merzouga

Your 4-day tour from Fes kicks off with a convenient pick-up. We’ll then head to Ifrane to admire the Atlas lion statue. A highlight of the morning will be a visit to the Azrou cedar forest, where you can get up close with the Barbary Macaque monkeys, offering them food and taking pictures. In the afternoon, our journey continues past the Hassan Addakhil dam near Errachidia. We’ll also stop at the Ait Chaker viewpoint for impressive views of a large date palm valley. Our route then takes us through Erfoud, a key city for date sales. By evening, we’ll reach Merzouga, where you can unwind at your hotel after the 7-hour drive from Fes.

The second day of your 4-day Fes to Merzouga tour is dedicated to a comprehensive exploration of the Merzouga region. We’ll immerse you in the local culture with visits to nomadic Berber families living in traditional tents, as well as the Gnawa people and their unique music. You’ll also see the Lake of Srij, a watering spot for local camels, and discover one of the small oases in the villages of Hassi Labied or Taboumiat Khutarat. As the afternoon unfolds, prepare for an unforgettable camel ride across the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, with a pause to witness the breathtaking sunset. Upon reaching our desert camp, you’ll be treated to a delicious dinner followed by traditional Berber music around a crackling campfire. Finally, the clear desert night offers an incredible opportunity to climb the dunes and marvel at the star-filled sky, including the Milky Way and potential shooting stars.

Day three starts with a return camel ride from the Merzouga camp. We’ll then travel through Erfoud (with an optional fossil museum visit) and Fezna’s old irrigation. Enjoy a stop at a Berber clothing cooperative to try local attire. After lunch, we’ll explore the Todgha Gorges near Tinghir, with free time for you. Our journey continues to the Dades, with stops at the “monkey toes” rocks and the Tissdrine curves, before checking into a Dades River hotel for the night.

The final day of your 4-day tour takes us to Marrakech with several interesting stops. We’ll visit Kalaat M’Gouna’s rose cooperative, drive through Skoura’s palm trees to Ouarzazate for a view of Taourirt Kasbah and a visit to Oscar Film Studios. The highlight is exploring the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. Our journey to Marrakech includes stops in the Atlas Mountains and at an argan oil cooperative before we reach your accommodation.
