Our three-day adventure to the Merzouga desert begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. We’ll embark on our journey, heading towards the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Our first major stop will be at Tizi-N-Tichka, a renowned pass that winds through the High Atlas Mountains, considered a highlight of Morocco. This route, a crucial link between Marrakech and Ouarzazate, features a series of gentle curves reaching an altitude of 2,300 meters. Please note that the pass is often closed during winter due to snowfall, but offers expansive mountain vistas when open. Following this scenic drive, we’ll arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the world’s oldest and most impressive fortified villages, where we will pause for lunch. Our exploration continues to Ouarzazate, where we’ll visit another significant historical site: the Kasbah of Touarirt, centrally located within the city. From Ouarzazate, our route takes us to the stunning Dades Valley. Here, you’ll be captivated by a beautiful palm oasis stretching along a river, framed by towering mountains – a truly worthwhile sight. Finally, we will spend the night in a local hotel situated near the valley.

Following a traditional Moroccan breakfast near the Dades Valley, our three-day journey from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert continues towards Tinghir. Close to Tinghir, we’ll discover the remarkable Todgha Gorges, a breathtaking natural wonder where towering rock faces meet a narrow canyon, often only around 10 meters wide. From there, our route to Merzouga will take us along a track winding through local villages until we reach Erfoud and Rissani. In this area, you’ll truly begin to sense your arrival in the desert landscape, and we will then drive you directly to Merzouga. A highlight for many visitors, your Merzouga adventure begins with a memorable camel ride across the stunning golden dunes, followed by the thrill of sandboarding. This promises to be an exceptional and unforgettable experience. Afterwards, we will ensure you witness the spectacular desert sunset, where the sun beautifully descends over the dunes. As night falls, you’ll be treated to the brilliance of the starlit sky accompanied by traditional Tuareg music. Your overnight stay will be in a comfortable and luxurious desert camp.

The final day of our three-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour begins with an early start to witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over the dunes. Following this spectacle, you’ll enjoy a refreshing shower and a tasty breakfast at the desert camp. Our journey back to Marrakech will take us through Alnif, a Berber village known for its unique traditional wedding customs and rich cultural tapestry. We will continue our drive, making our way to Tazarin, one of the final stops before reaching Marrakech. This small desert town is also a beautiful palm oasis and is notable for its henna production. In the afternoon, we will drive you directly back to Marrakech, where you will be dropped off at your riad or hotel, marking the conclusion of our memorable three-day tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert.
