Your driver will be waiting at Fes Airport to welcome you and take you to your accommodation. Fes is one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities, filled with history and tradition. Depending on when you arrive, you might want to start exploring the ancient medina or simply relax after your journey.

    Day 2: Discovering Fes

Today is all about exploring Fes, Morocco’s cultural heart. Visit the impressive Royal Palace gates, explore the Jewish Quarter, and see the world’s oldest university. Wander through the vibrant souks where craftsmen create beautiful leather goods, and don’t miss the famous tanneries for that classic Fes photo. Your driver is available if you need rides between different areas of the city.

    Day 3: Fes to Chefchaouen

After breakfast, you’ll travel north through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. This peaceful town is known for its stunning blue-painted streets and relaxed atmosphere. Spend your afternoon exploring the medina, visiting the Kasbah Museum, and climbing up to the Spanish Mosque for incredible views over the blue city.

Day 4: Chefchaouen to Casablanca via Rabat

Today you’ll head west to Morocco’s capital, Rabat. Visit the historic Hassan Tower and the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V, then explore the charming Kasbah of the Oudayas overlooking the ocean. Continue to Casablanca, where you can walk along the Corniche and admire the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s largest.

Day 5: Free morning in Casablanca. Transfer to Marrakech

Enjoy a morning in Casablanca before driving to Marrakech, the vibrant “Red City.” The journey takes about three hours through changing landscapes. Once you arrive, you can settle in and start getting familiar with this fascinating city, perhaps with an evening visit to the famous Jemaa el-Fna square.

    Day 6: Exploring Marrakech

Today you’ll discover why Marrakech captures so many hearts. Visit the beautiful Bahia Palace, see the ancient Saadian Tombs, and find peace in the stunning Majorelle Garden. Get lost in the colorful souks filled with spices, crafts, and traditional goods. As evening falls, Jemaa el-Fna square comes alive with food stalls, musicians, and entertainers.

    Day 7: Marrakech to Dades

Brace for spectacular scenery as you cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. You’ll visit Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that’s starred in many famous films. Continue through Ouarzazate, known as Morocco’s Hollywood, and the beautiful Valley of Roses before reaching the dramatic landscapes of Dades Valley.

Day 8: Dades to Merzouga desert

After breakfast, you’ll visit the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where massive cliffs tower above you – perfect for photos and a short walk. Then it’s on to Merzouga, where your desert adventure begins! You’ll meet your camp guide who will take you to your desert camp among the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a camel ride at sunset, a traditional dinner, and a night under the stars.

    Day 9: Merzouga to Fes

Wake up to a magical desert sunrise before beginning your journey back to Fes. You’ll drive through the surprising Ziz Valley with its palm groves, stop in Midelt for lunch, and visit Ifrane – often called “Little Switzerland” for its unique architecture. You’ll arrive back in Fes in the evening for your final night.

    Day 10: Departure

    FAQ
10-Day Private Car and Driver Tour in Morocco

What is the difference between a private driver and a tour guide?

A private driver is responsible for your transportation, comfort, and logistics, getting you safely from one location to another. They can provide general information and recommendations. An official local guide is licensed to accompany you inside monuments and museums, providing detailed historical and cultural context. For a deeper understanding in cities like Fes and Marrakech, we can arrange a local guide for a few hours at an additional cost.

How much free time and flexibility is there on this tour?

This itinerary is designed with significant flexibility. The driving routes and overnight stops are fixed, but your time in each location is yours to control. You can choose which sites to visit, how long to spend there, and where to eat. Your driver is there to facilitate your plans, not to rush you through a rigid schedule.

What is the recommended dress code for visiting mosques and religious sites?

When visiting mosques and other religious sites, modest dress is required for both men and women. This typically means covering shoulders, chest, and knees. While the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is more lenient with tourists, it still maintains a dress code. Carrying a scarf is a good idea for women. Your driver can provide specific guidance before each visit.

From Cities to the Sahara - Unforgettable!

This tour packs in so much! One day you’re in the chaotic beauty of Fes, and the next you’re watching the sunset over the Sahara. The drive through the Atlas Mountains is worth the trip alone. We loved the flexibility of having a driver; it felt like a road trip with a knowledgeable friend. The included hotels were charming and authentic. Highly recommend!

      Perfect for Independent Travelers

As a couple who likes to explore on our own, this was the ideal tour. We had the structure and ease of a driver handling the long distances and logistics, but the freedom to choose what we wanted to see and do in each city. The highlight was definitely the journey from the cedar forests down to the desert. An amazing way to see Morocco without the stress of driving yourself.
