You can visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s largest mosques, beautifully built on the Atlantic coast. A short walk along the Corniche Ain Diab offers sea views, cafés, and a great first impression of Morocco.

    Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, your private driver will take you north to Rabat, the capital city. You can visit the Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret that remains unfinished, and the nearby Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where the Moroccan royal family rests. You can also stroll through the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a peaceful neighborhood painted in blue and white. Later, continue driving through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, known as the ‘Blue Pearl’ of Morocco.

Day 3: Free Morning in Chefchaouen – Transfer to Fes

Spend your morning exploring Chefchaouen at your own pace. You can walk through the blue-painted alleys, visit the Kasbah Museum, or climb to the Spanish Mosque for a panoramic view of the town. After lunch, your private driver will take you to Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities, where tradition and history meet.

Day 4: Free Day in Fes

Take a full day to explore Fes on your own. Founded more than 1,200 years ago, Fes is home to one of the oldest medinas in the world and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can visit Al Quaraouiyine University, the Bou Inania Madrasa, and the Royal Palace gates. Walking through the medina, you will find narrow streets filled with craftsmen, shops, and the scent of spices and leather.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After breakfast, your private driver will take you south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane, known for its clean streets and European-style houses. Then visit the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques. Continue to Midelt, a mountain town surrounded by apple orchards, and then drive through the scenic Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, a small desert village near the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

    Day 6: Merzouga Desert Tour

Today, enjoy a relaxed day in the Merzouga Desert area with your driver. You can explore nearby desert villages such as Khamlia, known for its Gnawa music, or visit Rissani, an ancient trading town and the birthplace of Morocco’s royal family. The desert region is full of beautiful landscapes, fossil areas, and Berber villages that you can discover by car.

Day 7: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Leave Merzouga after breakfast and travel toward Tinghir, a small town surrounded by palm groves. Here, you can visit the impressive Todra Gorges, a natural canyon with cliffs that rise up to 300 meters. After visiting the gorge, continue through the Dades Valley, where the road winds between unique rock formations and local villages.

Day 8: Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, continue your journey through the Rose Valley, known for its pink flowers and the annual rose festival. Stop in Ouarzazate, called the ‘Hollywood of Africa,’ where many famous films were shot. Then visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a fortified village built of clay and straw in the 17th century, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, your private driver will cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech by evening.

Day 9: Free Morning in Marrakech – Drive to Casablanca

Spend your morning exploring Marrakech, the vibrant ‘Red City.’ You can visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs, or walk through the colorful souks of the medina. FAQ
    10-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca

What is the difference between a private driver and a tour guide?

A private driver is responsible for your transportation, comfort, and logistics, getting you safely from one location to another. They can provide general information and recommendations. An official local guide is licensed to accompany you inside monuments and museums, providing detailed historical and cultural context. For a deeper understanding in cities like Fes and Marrakech, we can arrange a local guide for a few hours at an additional cost.

How much free time and flexibility is there on this tour?

This itinerary is designed with significant flexibility. The driving routes and overnight stops are fixed, but your time in each location is yours to control. You can choose which sites to visit, how long to spend there, and where to eat. Your driver is there to facilitate your plans, not to rush you through a rigid schedule.

What is the recommended dress code for visiting mosques and religious sites?

When visiting mosques and other religious sites, modest dress is required for both men and women. This typically means covering shoulders, chest, and knees. While the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is more lenient with tourists, it still maintains a dress code. Carrying a scarf is a good idea for women. Your driver can provide specific guidance before each visit.

From Cities to the Sahara - Unforgettable!

This tour packs in so much! One day you’re in the chaotic beauty of Fes, and the next you’re watching the sunset over the Sahara. The drive through the Atlas Mountains is worth the trip alone. We loved the flexibility of having a driver; it felt like a road trip with a knowledgeable friend. The included hotels were charming and authentic. Highly recommend!

      Perfect for Independent Travelers

As a couple who likes to explore on our own, this was the ideal tour. We had the structure and ease of a driver handling the long distances and logistics, but the freedom to choose what we wanted to see and do in each city. The highlight was definitely the journey from the cedar forests down to the desert. An amazing way to see Morocco without the stress of driving yourself.
