Your driver will meet you in Tangier, and you’ll hit the road, winding through the Rif Mountains. Your first stop is Chefchaouen, the stunning “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. Spend your afternoon getting lost in its calming, blue-washed alleyways, browsing the small shops, and enjoying a mint tea in the main square.
Enjoy a relaxed morning to explore more of Chefchaouen. You can climb up to the Spanish Mosque for an amazing view over the blue city or just enjoy one last stroll. In the afternoon, your driver will take you to the ancient city of Fes, where you’ll spend the night.
Today is all about exploring Fes. You can visit the grand Royal Palace gates, see the historic tanneries from above, and wander through the world’s oldest university. The medina is a maze of narrow streets filled with the sounds and smells of a city that feels untouched by time—it’s an experience you won’t forget.
Today’s drive is a scenic one. You’ll head south, passing through the charming town of Ifrane and stopping in the Cedar Forest to see the local monkeys. The landscape changes as you drive through the Ziz Valley, with its endless palm trees, before finally arriving at the edge of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Here, you’ll swap your car for a camel (or a 4×4) to get to your desert camp for the night.
Wake up to a spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast, you’ll leave the dunes behind and travel towards the Dades Valley. Along the way, you’ll stop at the incredible Todra Gorge, where you can walk between its towering red cliffs. You’ll spend the night in the Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations.
After breakfast, you’ll drive through Ouarzazate, known as Morocco’s film capital, and visit the famous Ait Benhaddou kasbah. Then, buckle up for one of the best drives in the world as you cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. You’ll arrive in the vibrant city of Marrakech in the evening, where your amazing 6-day journey ends.

This itinerary is designed with significant flexibility. The driving routes and overnight stops are fixed, but your time in each location is yours to control. You can choose which sites to visit, how long to spend there, and where to eat. Your driver is there to facilitate your plans, not to rush you through a rigid schedule.
When visiting mosques and other religious sites, modest dress is required for both men and women. This typically means covering shoulders, chest, and knees. While the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is more lenient with tourists, it still maintains a dress code. Carrying a scarf is a good idea for women. Your driver can provide specific guidance before each visit.

Our driver, Karim, was the heart of this trip. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and a very safe driver. Having a private car gave us the freedom to stop for photos whenever we wanted and adjust the day slightly. The itinerary is perfectly paced to see the incredible diversity of Morocco. A truly first-class experience!”

This tour packs in so much! One day you’re in the chaotic beauty of Fes, and the next you’re watching the sunset over the Sahara. The drive through the Atlas Mountains is worth the trip alone. We loved the flexibility of having a driver; it felt like a road trip with a knowledgeable friend. The included hotels were charming and authentic. Highly recommend!
As a couple who likes to explore on our own, this was the ideal tour. We had the structure and ease of a driver handling the long distances and logistics, but the freedom to choose what we wanted to see and do in each city. The highlight was definitely the journey from the cedar forests down to the desert. An amazing way to see Morocco without the stress of driving yourself.
