    Itinerary

    15-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca

    Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Your private driver will meet you at Casablanca Airport and take you to your hotel. Casablanca is Morocco’s modern and economic capital. You can visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, beautifully located beside the Atlantic Ocean. If time allows, walk along the Corniche Ain Diab, a lively area with cafés and ocean views.

    Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Tangier

After breakfast, travel north with your private driver. Your first stop is Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, where you can visit the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a peaceful blue-and-white neighborhood overlooking the sea. Continue along the coast to Tangier, a city that connects Africa and Europe. You can walk along the port or enjoy views of the Strait of Gibraltar.

Day 3: Free Morning in Tangier – Transfer to Chefchaouen

Spend the morning discovering Tangier at your own pace. You can explore the medina, visit the Caves of Hercules, or see Cape Spartel, where the Atlantic and Mediterranean meet. In the afternoon, your private driver will take you through the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, the ‘Blue City.’

Day 4: Free Day in Chefchaouen

Enjoy a relaxing day in Chefchaouen, known for its blue-painted houses and narrow alleys. You can visit the Kasbah Museum, enjoy a mint tea in the main square, or walk up to the Spanish Mosque for a stunning sunset view. The city has a calm and artistic atmosphere that makes it one of the most loved towns in Morocco.

    Day 5: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fes

After breakfast, leave Chefchaouen and head south. Stop to explore Volubilis, an ancient Roman site dating back to the 3rd century BC and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its ruins include beautiful mosaics, temples, and arches that tell stories of Roman life in North Africa. Continue to Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest and most culturally rich imperial cities.

Day 6: Free Day in Fes

Spend the day exploring Fes on your own. Founded in the 8th century, it’s home to the Al Quaraouiyine University, the oldest in the world still in operation. You can visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, Royal Palace, and Jewish Quarter (Mellah). The medina is full of traditional workshops making pottery, leather, and brass goods — a great place to walk and shop.

Day 7: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After breakfast, your private driver will take you through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, a clean mountain town built by the French, and continue to Azrou, where you may see Barbary macaques in the Cedar Forest. Pass through Midelt and the beautiful Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and traditional villages. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, a small town at the edge of the Erg Chebbi Dunes.

    Day 8: Merzouga Desert Tour

Enjoy a relaxed day exploring the Merzouga Desert and its surroundings. You can visit Khamlia, a village known for its African Gnawa music, or explore Rissani, the birthplace of Morocco’s royal family and a traditional market town. You can also see fossil sites, desert oases, and nomadic families living in tents.

Day 9: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Leave Merzouga in the morning and travel toward Tinghir. Stop at the Todra Gorges, a natural canyon with high red cliffs and a small river flowing through it — a great place for short walks and photos. Continue to the Dades Valley, known for its rock formations, green fields, and scenic road turns.

Day 10: Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, drive through the Valley of Roses and continue to Ouarzazate, called the ‘Hollywood of Africa’ for its movie studios. Then visit Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed kasbah made of clay and straw. This historic village was once a stop for trade caravans and has appeared in many films. In the afternoon, cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech by evening.

Day 11: Free Day in Marrakech

Take a full day to explore Marrakech, the ‘Red City.’ You can visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and Saadian Tombs, or walk around the colorful souks. The Jemaa el-Fna Square is the heart of the city, full of local food, music, and daily life. If you prefer nature, visit the Majorelle Garden, one of the most beautiful gardens in Morocco.

    Day 12: Marrakech – Essaouira

After breakfast, your driver will take you to Essaouira. On the way, you may see goats climbing argan trees, a well-known sight in this region. Arrive in Essaouira by noon. The town has white walls, blue doors, and a relaxed seaside atmosphere.

    FAQ
    15-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca

What is the difference between a private driver and a tour guide?

A private driver is responsible for your transportation, comfort, and logistics, getting you safely from one location to another. They can provide general information and recommendations. An official local guide is licensed to accompany you inside monuments and museums, providing detailed historical and cultural context. For a deeper understanding in cities like Fes and Marrakech, we can arrange a local guide for a few hours at an additional cost.

How much free time and flexibility is there on this tour?

This itinerary is designed with significant flexibility. The driving routes and overnight stops are fixed, but your time in each location is yours to control. You can choose which sites to visit, how long to spend there, and where to eat. Your driver is there to facilitate your plans, not to rush you through a rigid schedule.

What is the recommended dress code for visiting mosques and religious sites?

When visiting mosques and other religious sites, modest dress is required for both men and women. This typically means covering shoulders, chest, and knees. While the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is more lenient with tourists, it still maintains a dress code. Carrying a scarf is a good idea for women. Your driver can provide specific guidance before each visit.

This wasn’t a rushed tour; it was a proper journey. Having our own car and driver let us follow our curiosity, whether that meant spending an extra hour in a café in Chefchaouen or stopping to take pictures of the stunning mountain passes. The route was perfectly planned to show us the amazing diversity of the country.

We loved having the framework of the trip taken care of—the driving and hotels were seamless—but we never felt herded around. Our driver was fantastic, offering suggestions but never imposing. The day trips from Marrakech to the waterfalls and the coast were the perfect way to break up the city stay.
