    Itinerary

9-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca – Private Driver Only

    Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Your private driver will meet you at Casablanca Airport and take you to your hotel. Casablanca is Morocco’s largest city and main port. If you arrive early, you can visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the biggest mosques in the world, or take a walk along the Corniche Ain Diab, a seaside promenade with cafés and ocean views.

    Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, your private driver will take you north toward Rabat, the capital of Morocco. You can visit the Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret that was never completed, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where Morocco’s late kings are buried. Nearby stands the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a peaceful blue-and-white quarter overlooking the ocean. In the afternoon, continue driving through the Rif Mountains until you reach Chefchaouen, known for its blue-painted streets and mountain setting.

Day 3: Free Morning in Chefchaouen – Transfer to Fes

Spend the morning exploring the charming Blue City of Chefchaouen. You can visit the Kasbah Museum, relax at Ras El Ma, or walk up to the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views. Later, your private driver will take you on a scenic drive toward Fes, one of Morocco’s most historic cities.

Day 4: Free Day in Fes

Enjoy a full free day to explore Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital. Founded in the 8th century, its old medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with narrow lanes, mosques, and traditional workshops. You can visit Al Quaraouiyine University—the world’s oldest functioning university—along with the Bou Inania Madrasa, Royal Palace gates, and Jewish Quarter (Mellah). Your driver will be available for short transfers within the city if needed.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After breakfast, begin your journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains with your private driver. Stop in Ifrane, a clean alpine-style town built by the French, then continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to centuries-old trees and Barbary macaques. Pass through Midelt, a quiet town between mountain ranges, before descending into the Ziz Valley, lined with thousands of palm trees. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, at the edge of the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Your driver will drop you at your chosen accommodation to rest or explore the desert village on your own.

Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Leave Merzouga after breakfast and travel to Rissani, once the capital of an ancient dynasty and still famous for its traditional market. Continue to the Todra Gorges, where high red cliffs create one of Morocco’s most impressive natural sights. After some time for photos and a short walk, your private driver will take you to the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic landscapes and rock formations nicknamed ‘Monkey Toes’.

Day 7: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

Today’s drive passes through the Rose Valley, where villagers produce rose oil and cosmetics each spring. Then, head to Ouarzazate, called the ‘Hollywood of Africa’ for its film studios and movie history. Stop at Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a 17th-century fortress built of mud brick and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and reach Marrakech by evening.

Day 8: Free Day in Marrakech – Drive to Casablanca (4 PM)

Spend the morning exploring Marrakech, known as the ‘Red City’. You can visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square, where music, food, and culture fill the air. If you enjoy gardens, the Majorelle Garden is another popular stop. In the afternoon, around 4 PM, your driver will take you back to Casablanca for your final night in Morocco.

Day 9: Transfer to the Airport

At the scheduled time, your private driver will pick you up and transfer you to Casablanca Airport for your flight. This marks the end of your 9-day Morocco private driver-only tour, offering a comfortable way to travel across the country while choosing your own hotels and pace.

    FAQ
    9-Day Morocco Tour

What is the difference between a private driver and a tour guide?

A private driver is responsible for your transportation, comfort, and logistics, getting you safely from one location to another. They can provide general information and recommendations. An official local guide is licensed to accompany you inside monuments and museums, providing detailed historical and cultural context. For a deeper understanding in cities like Fes and Marrakech, we can arrange a local guide for a few hours at an additional cost.

How much free time and flexibility is there on this tour?

This itinerary is designed with significant flexibility. The driving routes and overnight stops are fixed, but your time in each location is yours to control. You can choose which sites to visit, how long to spend there, and where to eat. Your driver is there to facilitate your plans, not to rush you through a rigid schedule.

What is the recommended dress code for visiting mosques and religious sites?

When visiting mosques and other religious sites, modest dress is required for both men and women. This typically means covering shoulders, chest, and knees. While the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is more lenient with tourists, it still maintains a dress code. Carrying a scarf is a good idea for women. Your driver can provide specific guidance before each visit.

From Cities to the Sahara - Unforgettable!

This tour packs in so much! One day you’re in the chaotic beauty of Fes, and the next you’re watching the sunset over the Sahara. The drive through the Atlas Mountains is worth the trip alone. We loved the flexibility of having a driver; it felt like a road trip with a knowledgeable friend. The included hotels were charming and authentic. Highly recommend!

      Perfect for Independent Travelers

As a couple who likes to explore on our own, this was the ideal tour. We had the structure and ease of a driver handling the long distances and logistics, but the freedom to choose what we wanted to see and do in each city. The highlight was definitely the journey from the cedar forests down to the desert. An amazing way to see Morocco without the stress of driving yourself.
