Day 1: Arrival to Fes :
When you arrive at Fes airport, our driver will greet you holding a sign with our agency’s name and transfer you to your traditional Riad accommodation in Fes.
Day 2: Guided tour in Fes:
On the second day of your 5-day tour, we’ll continue our exploration of the vibrant cultural city of Fes. Our day begins with a visit to the Royal Palace (Dar El Makhzen), an impressive site featuring seven ornate golden gates. Following this, we’ll ascend to Borj Nord, offering magnificent panoramic views across Fes. We will then explore a mosaic and pottery cooperative, witnessing the intricate artistry, and take in another scenic vista from the west, near the Marinid Tombs. A visit to the Chouara tannery will provide insight into the traditional methods of leather production.
Later in the day, a local guide will lead a walking tour starting from the Bab gate. This tour will encompass visits to the historic Al-Karaouine University, recognized as the world’s oldest operating university, and the beautiful Bou Inania Madrasa, a former center for Islamic learning. Depending on the time available, you might also have the opportunity to experience a traditional Moroccan Hammam.
Day 3: Fes to Merzouga desert:
On day three, we’ll journey south over the High and Middle Atlas Mountains, setting our sights on Merzouga. Our first stop is Ifrane, the “Little Switzerland of Morocco,” where we’ll admire the Atlas lion statue, a unique piece of history. We’ll then proceed to the cedar forests of Azrou, where you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the Barbary apes, feeding them and capturing some memorable moments.
Following lunch in the Atlas region, we’ll stop at the Hassan Addkhail Dam near Errachidia. Our next highlight will be the panoramic views of the Ziz River valley, also near Errachidia. As we continue towards the Sahara, passing through an area known for dates and fossils, we’ll make a quick stop for a stunning overview of the dunes before reaching Merzouga center. Here, an amazing camel ride awaits, taking you across the Erg Chebbi dunes to our Berber camp. The evening will be filled with the warmth of a campfire, the rhythm of Berber drums, and an ascent to the highest dunes for spectacular stargazing, including potential sightings of shooting stars and the Milky Way.
Day 4: Merzouga to Dades Gorges:
Camel trekking is the highlight of our 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech. Therefore, we will leave Merzouga after we take you on another camel ride back to the center. On this day, there are many things to see on the way there. To start with, we will stop at Erfoud, if you are a geologist, we want you to see the fossils. Therefore, we will take you to check one of its cooperatives.
Thereafter, we will drive across Jorf and Fazna, we will stop to visit an old system of irrigation before we arrive in Tinejdad for lunch. Next, we will arrive at the Grand Canyons of Todgha Gorges, you will have some free time to explore the area by walking. Then, we will drive to Dades, we will make two-stops, one at the monkey toes mountains and one at the curves of Tissdrine. Overnight will be in a Riad in the canyons of Dades
Day 5: Dades to Marrakech:
The final day of your 5-day journey from Fes takes you towards the vibrant red city of Marrakech, with stunning landscapes unfolding along the way. Departing from your riad in Dades, our first stop will be the Valley of Roses, where you’ll learn about the extraction of precious rose products. We’ll then drive through Skoura, a city distinguished by its towering ancient palm trees, before arriving in Ouarzazate. Here, we’ll visit the Atlas Film Studios, offering fascinating insights into the numerous movies filmed in the region.
Our next destination is the Berber Fortress and Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site of significant historical and architectural importance. Finally, we’ll traverse the scenic Tizi N’Tichka pass, an essential route through the Atlas Mountains connecting Marrakech and Ouarzazate. Along this winding road, we’ll make several stops to admire the majestic Atlas Mountains and also visit an argan oil cooperative. Upon arrival in Marrakech, we will transfer you to your accommodation, marking the conclusion of your 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakech.
