Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up service to the Hotel
On the first day of our 6-day Marrakech to Fes desert vacation package, we will pick you up from the airport and transport you to your accommodation. If you arrive early, we can take you to some stunning sites, such as the Jamaa el-Fna area, we recommend visiting in the evening, as it is much more beautiful at night. You will spend the night at your accommodation.
Day 2: Marrakech guided tour
Marrakech, known as the “city of light,” is a vibrant destination in Morocco with a wealth of sights and activities. Although one day may not be enough to see everything, we have planned a full day to explore its main attractions. As the fourth largest city in Morocco, having a local expert to guide you is beneficial. Morocco Shara Path offers excellent local guides to help you experience the city’s highlights fully. On the first day of your 6-day tour from Marrakech to Fes, a guide will take you around Marrakech. We usually begin at the Majorelle Garden, which is considered one of the most beautiful gardens in Morocco. This garden was designed in 1923 by a French artist, giving it a distinctly French aesthetic. After exploring Majorelle Garden, we will visit Menara Garden, a stunning garden situated to the west of Marrakech against the backdrop of the High Atlas Mountains. Next, we’ll visit the Bahia Palace, known for its stunning Moroccan architecture. After that, we’ll explore more interesting sites, and in the evening, you can visit the beautiful Jamaa el Fna plaza.
Day 3 : Marrakech to Boumaln Dades
Next, we will visit the Bahia Palace, famous for its stunning Moroccan architecture. After exploring more fascinating sites, you can enjoy the vibrant Jamaa el Fna plaza in the evening. On the third day of our six-day journey from Marrakech to Fes, we will travel to Boumalne Dades en route to the captivating Merzouga. Our drive will take us through the beautiful High Atlas Mountains, including the winding Tizi Ntichka Pass, a 200-kilometer route rich in Berber culture. Along the way, we’ll stop at Berber villages, visit local Argan oil cooperatives, and learn about traditional production methods. Our next destination is the impressive fortress of Ait Benhaddou, located on the edge of the High Atlas Mountains. Accessible by a stroll over the Ouad El Maleh River, this Kasbah features striking traditional Moroccan clay architecture. Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, is significant in Moroccan history and is set in the Sahara Desert. As we continue our journey, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, a fascinating city in Morocco often referred to as “Ouallywood” due to its major international airport and the world’s largest solar power plant. Ouarzazate is also recognized as a hub for film and television production, featuring two of Morocco’s main studios along with equipment rental facilities. Our final stop for the day will be Boumalne Dades, where we typically spend the night in preparation for the exciting desert adventures that lie ahead.
Day 4 : Boumalne Dades to Merzouga
On the fourth day of your 6-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Fes, we will depart after breakfast for the Sahara. Our first captivating destination is the Todra Gorges, also known as the Toudgha Canyons. You will have the opportunity to stretch your legs and explore these stunning gorges, which feature towering cliffs that rise 300 meters high and a flowing river, creating some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Morocco. We will continue our journey into the Sahara Desert, passing through picturesque Berber villages and the cities of Tineghir and Tinghir, each offering a glimpse into local life. Our main destination for the day will be the edge of the stunning dunes. Camels and their guides will be ready to provide you with an unforgettable experience: a walk on the golden sands. You will have the opportunity to take amazing photographs of yourself riding a camel against the backdrop of the vast desert. Finally, we will arrive at our desert camp in the late afternoon or early evening. Many people choose to climb the nearby dunes to witness the spectacular sunset. For those seeking adventure, sandboarding or skiing down the dunes is also an option. Later, you will be served a traditional Moroccan meal. While you enjoy your meal and relax, our camp staff will entertain you with drumming and Berber music around a comfortable campfire under the starry desert sky.
Day 5: Merzouga discovery tour
On the fifth day of your 6-day desert trek from Marrakech to Fes, you will have a unique opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of Merzouga. The day can start with a breathtaking view of the desert sunrise, which bathes the dunes in vibrant colors. After breakfast, you can choose how to explore this stunning area. Many tourists prefer the convenience of a 4×4 vehicle, which allows for greater exploration of the terrain and the chance to visit more remote regions. However, if you prefer a more traditional desert experience reminiscent of Lawrence of Arabia, we can also organize an exciting camel excursion for you. Our first stop is a genuine Berber nomad settlement, where people continue to live in traditional tents, closely connected to the cycles of nature. Typically, each nomadic household consists of seven to ten individuals who rely entirely on the resources of the land. Their primary source of income comes from herding goats and sheep, which they sell in nearby cities like Erfoud and Rissani. What truly sets these villages apart is the remarkable warmth and generosity that the inhabitants extend to their guests. After an unforgettable visit, we will head to one of Merzouga’s most breathtaking viewpoints, “Galb El Nas,” which translates to “the heart of the people.” From this vantage point, you’ll be captivated by the landscape. Our final stop for the day will be in the heart of Khamliya, where you will meet the Gnawa people, also known as the Gnoua. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about their unique cultural customs and listen to their distinctive music. Additionally, we will visit the beautiful Oases of Hassi Labied, which provide a vibrant contrast to the surrounding arid environment and are a remarkable sight to behold.
Day 6: Merzouga desert to Fes
The final day of your 6-day Marrakech to Fes tour involves a drive to Fes, stopping at Erfoud and the date-rich Ziz Valley. You’ll have lunch in Midelt or Zaida, and then experience the Cedar Forest with its Barbary Macaques. Finally, you’ll visit Ifrane, “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and see the Atlas Lion statue before arriving in Fes.

Testimonials:

The best 6 days!:

Youssef and Moha from Morocco Sahara Path met my partner and me when we arrived in Marrakech in October. They were courteous and considerate from the moment we arrived. Once again, they were there and waiting for us when we wanted to take a detour or remain a little longer somewhere. Astonishing! The first day, we followed the atlas till we reached the desert! During our vacation, we stayed in really comfortable hotels. There is no way to ignore the guides’ positive energy; they were great! No doubt, I would recommend it to anyone interested in visiting Morocco.

Amazing tour services:

Visiting Morocco was an amazing experience! Youssef excelled at vacation planning, paying special attention to our needs and responding quickly to emails.
It’s hard to put into words how fantastic Moha is. He is a wonderful man! We couldn’t have asked for a more reliable driver, better restaurant recommendations, or a more knowledgeable guide on Moroccan culture and the country itself. Moha was the perfect travel companion during our time in Morocco.
If you haven’t tried this experience yet, you are truly missing out. People in Morocco are generally kind and accommodating.
Thank you, Youssef and Moha, for a wonderful time! I look forward to seeing you both soon, if not sooner!
